Investment and Portfolio Choices

Béatrice Boulu-Reshef’s research focuses on decision-making in financial, organizational, and market settings, using behavioral theory and experimental methods. She studies investment and portfolio choices, studying how humans make decisions in the presence when interacting with algorithmic devices, investor sentiment, risk profiling, and regulatory design. A central theme of her work is trust, reputation, and social preferences, and how beliefs, transparency, and signaling shape cooperation, coordination, investment and resource allocation.

Ms. Boulu-Reshef’s research and teaching lie at the intersection of financial economics, managerial economics, behavioral and experimental economics, behavioral finance, and law and economics. She also examines leadership, managerial behavior and their effects on performance and free-riding. In addition, her research focuses on entrepreneurship and managerial economics, analyzing financing contracts and entrepreneurial investment. Finally, she works at the intersection of law and economics, studying cartels, sanctions, and punitive attitudes, as well as broader issues of cooperation, misconduct, and social influence. Methodologically, she relies on a combination of laboratory experiments, framed-field experiments, and she uses data collected within organizations and firms. A large part of her research is closely connected to management sciences.

Béatrice Boulu-Reshef is Professor of Economics at CY Cergy Paris Université and a member of the research center THEMA. Prior to joining CY, she was a Professor of Economics at the University of Orléans and an Assistant Professor of Economics at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Her research has been published in several academic journals, including Management Science, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Experimental Economics, European Journal of Law and Economics, and others. Béatrice Boulu-Reshef serves as Associate Editor at The Leadership Quarterly and at Review of Entrepreneurship. She is also President of the Association Revue économique.
